Crown Bay Marina is hosting its first annual "Irmageddon" Poker Run on Sunday, April 29, 2018! The goal of "Irmageddon" was conceived to reengage the boating community following the two Category 5 hurricanes and to galvanize the local community. The Marina theme, "We are V.I.!," celebrates the resilience and integrity displayed by the Virgin Islanders after an extremely taxing period post Hurricanes Irma and Maria. Accordingly, a portion of the proceeds collected from this event will be donated to The Boys & Girls Club of St. Thomas, V.I. (a non-profit Virgin Islands charitable organization).

To start the day activities, the national anthem is scheduled to be performed by Ms. Lorna Freeman of St. Thomas, V.I. a local vocalist with a strong following in the U.S. Virgin Islands. The Marina hopes to involve the boys and girls of the club in a variety of activities throughout the day including a fishing tournament on the docks as well as nautical-themed educational programs. Other scheduled festivities during this day will include a car show hosted by the local car clubs supported by food trucks, vendors, and music, which will be open to the public without a charge. The "Irmageddon" route departs from the Marina and visits four locations before returning to Crown Bay Marina later that afternoon. The scheduled draws are Cruz Bay (St. John), Coki Beach (St. Thomas), Honeymoon Beach (Water Island), and a surprise stop to be revealed closer to the Carnival season.

Kosei Ohno, the President of the St. Thomas Marina Corporation, shares his vision of "Irmageddon" to "bring as many boats into the community, to partake in an exciting and energizing event; something to look forward to. My idea of a successful event, regardless of the amount of boats, is everyone has a safe and enjoyable day."

Boat registration will be $250, which includes a lunch ticket and an event shirt. Additional participants in registered boats can also purchase a hand for $100. Winners will receive cash prizes. For more information, please contact Josselyn at
